Reading Sensors

So, we don’t do our programming in C, so some of the details of this video might be a bit more than you’d prefer. That said, it’s a reasonable-length video, and the information isn’t actually bad to start have rattling around inside your head.

We’ll explore this in class on Tuesday, using both a variable resistor and a temperature sensor as inputs to our Arduino. We’re taking steps towards being able to do some interesting things with our Arduino at this point; we’ll dive into motors (outputs) next week!

Come to class with notes that reflect two things:

  • What are the essential concepts that you believe will apply even if we’re reading from sensors in a different programming language? What steps will we still need to take?

  • What are some of the details that we probably won’t need to know, because our programming language is different.

These would do well in your electronics lab notebook. You should, as you know, have one.
